We are looking for a Retail Store Manager to join us in Essex!
You will manage the operation of the store in an efficient and effective manner with the objective of maximising store profitability in accordance with the Co-operative's policies and rules.
Retail Store Manager – Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain appropriate levels of stock availability to customers
2. Implement effective stock and order procedures to maximise sales within agreed stockholding targets
3. Maintain stock ranges
4. Ensure merchandise is well presented and promotional material is effectively displayed
5. Minimise stock losses via effective in-store stock control
6. Record and report all known losses such as wastage, freezer breakdowns, burglary and theft
7. Undertake regular stock takes, monitoring stock levels and losses
8. Maintain the security of the store, its contents and staff in accordance with the Food Store Policy & Procedures Manual
9. Maintain effective cash, banking and till controls
10. Ensure the store is maintained to a high level of cleanliness and presentation
11. Communicate any required remedial and maintenance work to the appropriate party
12. Participate in the recruitment and selection of store supervisors and assistants
13. Undertake effective induction processes for all new supervisors and general assistants
14. Ensure all store staff are trained to an acceptable level in all store procedures
15. Identify any training and development needs that may require off-site attention
16. Ensure compliance with Co-operative policies and procedures
17. Ensure adequate staffing, supervision, and management during store hours
18. Record and communicate all staff holiday, hours of work, and sickness to payroll
19. Promote effective customer service
20. Ensure compliance with all legal requirements including Health & Safety Practices, Fire Precautions, Food Hygiene Controls, and licensing laws
21. Operate within agreed budgetary cost constraints and meet levels of budgetary turnover and profitability
22. Abide by and carry out the Co-operatives Health & Safety policy
23. Abide by and carry out the Co-operatives Employment Policy
24. Carry out other duties as required by the business from time to time
Retail Store Manager – What we need from you:
We are looking for an experienced Manager with previous experience in Convenience Retail.
* Personal Alcohol Licence an advantage
* Stock Control experience an advantage
* Food Waste Control experience an advantage
