Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting a Business Development Manager to join a growing Design Consultancy in the UK Power industry. The successful candidate will be tasked to Identify and develop new business opportunities within the power generation, energy-from-waste, and petrochemical sectors.
The BDM Manager comes with a day rate from £250.00 to £300.00 per day on a part-time basis of 3 days per week.
Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:
Identify and develop new business opportunities within the power generation, energy-from-waste, and petrochemical sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, EPC contractors, and industry influencers.
Lead on market research, competitor analysis, and sector trends to inform strategic direction and commercial focus.
Develop and deliver compelling proposals, bids, and presentations tailored to client requirements if and when required.
Collaborate with the technical and operations teams to align service offerings with client needs and ensure seamless project delivery.
Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote brand visibility and generate leads.
Support contract negotiation and closure, ensuring deals align with company goals and profitability targets.
Regularly report on pipeline activity, sales performance, and market feedback to the senior leadership team.
Proven track record in business development or sales within the power, EfW, or petrochemical sectors.
Strong network across relevant industries, including engineering, utilities, waste, and energy.
Experience working with or for SMEs is advantageous; must be comfortable in a hands-on, agile environment.
Excellent commercial, negotiation, and communication skills.
Location, day rate and timeframe of the Business Development Manager position:
Home based with travel to and from meetings.
Day rate - £250.00 to £300.00
Bonus - 2-5% for successful business sales
