This leadership role demands a strong background in both Statutory and Management Accounting and dealing with both internal and external stakeholders. As the Chief Accountant, you will lead the Field and Statutory Accounting trams as well as the Accounts Payable team. You'll partner closely with other colleagues across the financial teams, to play a pivotal part in ensuring the correct internal and external reporting of results in line with company policy. On a typical day you will: Day to day leadership of the Accounting and Payables Team and managing relationship with Finance COE’s (incorporating the treasury, intercompany & cashiering function). Must have a detailed understanding of each area. Managing the month end closing process and reporting. Providing detailed input of actuals into the monthly flash meetings with CFO and FP&A. Prepare, review and approve journals at month end relating to the accounting team. Develops and nurtures a continuous talent pipeline for key roles in the UKN Accounting and Payables teams. Defines and facilitates the achievement of goals and key performance indicators for direct reports and ensures effective implementation of the performance management process in the UKN Accounting and Payables teams. What You Will Need to be Successful : Be degree educated within Financial or Accounting equivalent. Be a qualified accountant ideally within ACA, ACCA or CIMA. Minimum of ten years experience within billing and credit control, with a significant amount of time in people management. Great team leader, with hands on experience of managing a highly complex team including managing managers. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, linked with great communication skills.
