Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Melton Mowbray.
Salary: up to £25,000 salary for the right candidate
Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week)
This is a 12-month maternity cover role for a Finance Assistant to support all financial operations within the company. The role will support a number of key areas including purchase ledger, sales ledger, cash flow forecasting, and monthly management reporting.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Process purchase invoices and reconcile supplier statements.
2. Ensure purchase invoices are coded to the correct nominal, department code, and VAT treatment.
3. Perform weekly bank reconciliation on Sage and daily cash reconciliations.
4. Enter customer receipts on to Sage and follow up on underpayments.
5. Issue monthly customer statements.
6. Assist in cash flow forecasting.
7. Support month-end payroll, including checking clocking-in reports and maintaining payroll analysis.
8. Assist with month-end journals and reporting.
9. Collaborate closely with the wider Finance Team and non-finance departments to ensure smooth and accurate financial operations.
SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Minimum of 2 years financial experience in a similar role.
2. Proficiency in financial software, including Sage 50.
3. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
4. Good time management.
5. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
QUALIFICATIONS
AAT Certificate or Diploma in Accounting or Bookkeeping would be favorable.
