Your Responsibilities Work Stream
Our busy and fast-paced department is engaged in various infrastructure projects and framework contracts across rail engineering environments. Our work includes a range of reactive works such as; Stations Buildings, Platforms, Car Parks, line side buildings, maintenance Delivery Units, signal Boxes and ancillaries. We collaborate with our client on buildings projects throughout the LNE region, whether they involve new infrastructure or maintenance works.
The Role
As a Project Manager, you will be directly responsible for the daily management of rail and civil engineering projects within our portfolio, specifically focusing on Buildings Asset Management reactive works. The works will typically range in value from approximately £1k to £100k. You will lead successful contract delivery by ensuring that the site team is well-informed of the contract parameters and possesses the necessary capability and resources to meet contract objectives.
Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include
* Engaging in projects at all stages, from pre-qualification and tendering through to completion.
* Ensuring that the site team is fully informed of contract parameters, capabilities, and resources necessary to achieve contract objectives.
* Executing the contract in accordance with all applicable legislation, the contracts Terms and Conditions, the Health and Safety Plan, and the Quality/Environmental Plan.
* Delivering contracts within agreed program timelines and budget.
* Controlling and managing subcontract resources to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
* Continuously monitoring contract progress to ensure that objectives are being met.
* Working with the Project Delivery Team to identify, agree on, and manage changes to the contract effectively.
* Providing formal reports on contract progress to the Contracts Manager.
Essential
* HNC / NVQ6/7 in Construction minimum or suitably qualified by experience
* Ability to lead and develop the operational reactive delivery team
* Demonstratable commercial experience
* Strong commercial awareness, cost monitoring and reporting
* In depth knowledge of working within a railway environment
* Operational management experience of reactive buildings asset maintenance framework with schemes typically between £1k to £100k
* Civil Engineering Construction work (at least 5 years) with strong knowledge of CDM.
