Year 1 Teacher (Maternity Cover) Salary : £162.31 - £234.08 per day, depending on pay scale Location : Pendle Job Type : Full-time, Temporary (June 2025 - June 2026) We are seeking a dedicated Year 1 Teacher for a maternity cover position, starting in June 2025. This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about fostering a creative and inclusive learning environment for young learners. Day-to-day of the role: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and educational lessons that cater to the needs of Year 1 students. Assess and record students' progress, preparing reports and communicating with parents and guardians to discuss their children's progress. Create a vibrant, organised, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and curiosity. Implement classroom management strategies to maintain student discipline and facilitate a positive learning experience. Collaborate with other teaching staff to plan and coordinate lessons and school events. Required Skills & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience teaching at the primary level, specifically with Year 1 or similar age groups. Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage young children and foster a sense of excitement about learning.
