Key Responsibilities: Act as a positive role model for children and young people, offering care and support based on structure, consistency, and nurturing. Ensure the safety and well-being of each child or young person at all times. Be intuitive to the physical and emotional needs of children and young people. Monitor, record, and report any indications of stress or abuse. Encourage and promote good personal hygiene and semi-independence in daily activities. Support children and young people in a wide range of activities, including escorting them to and from activities. Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, therapists, and social workers. Maintain accurate records and documentation using our electronic recording system. Participate in group meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions. Manage shift work, including overnight sleep-ins. Requirements: Relevant qualifications in social work, childcare, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People). Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a residential setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage personal and professional boundaries. Preparedness to work under pressure and cope with stress. IT proficiency, including good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Flexibility to work unsocial hours, including public holidays, and attend residential holidays with young people. A current driving license is desirable.
