Project Engineer £38,000 - £45,000 basic salary
Days: Monday to Friday

ATA Search is recruiting for a market-leading volume manufacturing business based in Northamptonshire. Established for over 30 years, they manufacture engineered components for various sectors, setting standards with stringent quality and manufacturing processes. Generating over £18m in annual sales, they are part of a larger group with aspirations to become a £1b business.
Due to succession planning, this business is looking to recruit a Project Engineer from the automotive or plastics moulding sectors.

The role of the Project Engineer will be as follows:
1. Factory-based role with occasional meetings with customers and suppliers.
2. Lead all manufacturing project engineering from project nomination to full production.
3. Responsible for design reviews and feasibility studies, ensuring technology is available for product manufacturing.
4. Support cost estimations, build target plans, and build cross-functional teams (quality, logistics, injection mould specialist, and production engineering).
5. Set up timing plans and work with suppliers and customers to support manufacturing schedules.
6. Coordinate tooling manufacturing and all projects related to assembly.
7. Manage trials from tool makers and tooling suppliers.
8. Utilise Microsoft Projects and Gantt charts to manage projects.
9. Utilise the company ERP system (SAP) – training provided.
The ideal Project Engineer will have a combination of the following:
1. An experienced Project Engineer or Project Quality Engineer.
2. Experience in automotive or plastics, ideally both.
3. A suitable engineering qualification – degree preferred.
4. A proven track record in project engineering activities within a manufacturing environment.
5. Experience and comfort face-to-face with customers and suppliers as well as presenting project engineering solutions.
6. Detail-oriented, strong planning skills, and highly organised.
