Job Summary As a Senior Production Assistant at Skyline Whitespace, you will support the Production Manager in overseeing the production process for fabric and Foamex-based graphics and displays used in custom exhibition stands. Your role involves assisting with various aspects of the production lifecycle, including preparing and organising materials, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers, and ensuring quality standards are met. You will help manage production schedules, track project progress, and troubleshoot minor technical issues, contributing to the successful execution of visually impactful graphics that meet client specifications. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions accurately, and a solid understanding of large-format printing techniques and exhibition design principles. Your support will be crucial in maintaining an efficient workflow and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality displays. Key Responsibilities: Assist in preparing and organising fabrics, Foamex, and other materials for printing and assembly. Help track and manage production schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time. Conduct preliminary quality checks on printed materials to ensure they meet specifications. Assist in fabric printing production as well as the printing process for a variety of graphics, ensuring optimal colour quality, image resolution, and material integrity. Support in setting up and calibrating printing equipment and machinery. Assist with troubleshooting minor technical issues with printing equipment. Monitor and manage inventory levels of printing supplies and materials. Prepare and verify design files for printing, ensuring proper formats and colour profiles. Help in packing and preparing finished graphics for delivery or installation. Address any technical issues or production delays, solving problems quickly to maintain project timelines. Additional Responsibilities: Follow quality assurance processes to ensure the prints are free from defects and meet the company's high standards. Assist in cleaning and maintaining production equipment and work areas. Provide general support to the Production Manager and team members as needed. Help train new team members or interns in production procedures and safety practices. Assist in resolving any issues that arise during production to prevent delays. Liaise with suppliers to procure fabrics, materials, inks, and printing equipment, balancing quality with cost-effectiveness. Help process and verify orders, including checking for accuracy and completeness before production begins. Report any discrepancies, defects, or issues with materials or equipment to the Production Manager promptly. As duties and responsibilities change, the job description will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the Production Assistant. The Production Assistant will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job as requested by the Line manager or Head of Department. Strong ability to manage and organise materials, files, and production schedules efficiently. Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients. Capability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively to meet production deadlines. Ability to identify and resolve minor issues that may arise during production. Proficiency in using design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and production management tools. Capacity to handle physical tasks such as lifting materials and standing for extended periods. Skill in inspecting and ensuring the quality of printed materials and final products. Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and support the Production Manager in achieving goals. Working Conditions: 09:00 – 17:30 hrs based in SW19 2QA The role is typically based in a print production environment with large format printing machines and other equipment like sewing machines. Physical Demands: The position may involve standing, walking, and lifting light to moderate objects during production.
