Job details
Due to internal progression, we are thrilled to be offering the opportunity of a fixed-term contract HR Business Partner. This post provides great opportunities to get involved in a broad remit of HR activities, including organisational design work and development, change management including TUPE, as well as the routine Employee Relations case work.
Being confident in handling Employee Relations cases, you will understand that employee wellbeing is important and how you manage your work to resolve cases should take a commercial as well as person-centric approach.
A confident Human Resources Business Partner and an experienced advisor, you will be used to managing your own challenging caseload and supporting managers with cases up to and including dismissal and appeal; can lead on redundancy consultations and be happy to review and develop people policies. Happy to contribute to a variety of different projects, both within the HR team and across the council as a whole, you will be equally comfortable analysing data, producing reports and guiding managers and employees through policies and procedures.
Through this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute ideas and new ways of working to current practices, so curious, creative, and resourceful people will flourish in this post.
The HR team's focus on customer delivery is key, and we are seeking an individual who holds the communication prowess to manage stakeholders, managers, employees, and our staff representatives, to deliver solutions.
You do not have to have experience working in the public sector, but you will need experience within a HR department in a busy and diverse medium-to-large organisation. What you will need is the genuine desire to make a difference to our staff and customers, live our values and focus on outcomes by being an active member of the HR team.
We have achieved great things as a team, and we now are looking for a HRBP who can contribute to the next phase of priorities - new ways of working and supporting our employees and services.
In return, you will be joining a supportive team and an organisation that makes a difference in the lives of residents and communities in our District. This role will be on a full-time basis, although we welcome conversations about how you might work these hours. The HR team split their time between home and office.
An offer of employment is conditional upon having the right to work in the UK. Huntingdonshire District Council does not hold a Sponsorship Licence and are unable to provide a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or take over sponsorship for any role.
