Employer: Cygnet Healthcare Location: Cygnet Hospital Maidstone Salary: £27,250 p/a Hours: Full-time (37.5 hrs a week) Cygnet Hospital Maidstone Cygnet Healthcare is seeking to recruit a full-time, experienced, and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join Cygnet Hospital Maidstone. This role will be working 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is our state-of-the-art, 63 bed mental health facility for adults situated in the Kent Medical Campus in Maidstone. Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is purpose built to meet the latest national specifications for improving mental health within a therapeutic environment. The hospital will provide an important and much-needed service for local patients from Kent. The hospital is split into four distinct wards, each offering specialist mental health services: Roseacre Ward Highly Specialised Personality Disorder service for women Kingswood Ward High Support Inpatient Rehabilitation (Level 2) service for men Bearsted Ward Specialist PICU Service for Men Saltwood Ward Male low secure ward Job Role The role of the Assistant Psychologist will be to support and enhance the psychological care of clients within Maidstone by assisting the Qualified Psychologist in the delivery and evaluation of effective services that meet Cygnets Healthcare objectives, national strategic and policy guidelines, commissioner requirements and user and carer needs and expectations. To thereby help understand, prevent, and ameliorate psychological distress and disorder and improve mental health and well-being of clients. The role involves the administration, scoring, and report writing of psychometric assessments, standardised risk assessments, clinical formulation, and supervised individual and group interventions. Clinical supervision will be provided as an important part of personal and professional development, and additional training will be supported. We also offer an excellent Assistant Psychologist Development Programme to support our Assistant Psychologists continuing professional development. Candidate Profile: You will be a strong team player, confident, motivated, and well organised. You will have a good understanding of the role of therapeutic boundaries, clinical risk, and the importance of evidence-based interventions. Patience and commitment are essential, but above all youll be someone with a genuine desire to help others. We are looking for someone with a good degree in Psychology, further postgraduate training in relevant area of applied psychology and mental health is desirable. Previous experience of working within mental health services and settings is essential, and previous experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist and delivering 1:1 therapeutic work and/or group therapy sessions is desirable.
