Purpose This role is responsible for setting and delivering the marketing and communications strategy for Lakeland Arts. Working closely with the Head of Marketing and Communications, Digital Marketing Officer, agencies and freelancers, this position suits a collaborative marketer able to develop and manage a variety of storylines and relationships across teams, with journalists and marketing partners. Areas of responsibility include leading on campaign management, email marketing and PR, reaching new audiences and increasing the number of people who know about Lakeland Arts, visit, engage with our programme and membership opportunities. Key Responsibilities • Work closely with the marketing and communication team to map out and plan an engaging and relevant programme of multi-channel marketing and communications campaigns aimed at increasing visitor engagement • Get to know our existing and potential audiences inside out, and what they want from Lakeland Arts. Be curious and proactive about ways to grow and reach new audiences and deepen engagement with existing audiences • Plan and implement online and offline campaigns • With our audiences in mind, copywrite and proofread for different communications channels with a focus on print (posters, leaflets and direct mail), press releases, blog posts and email • Plan, coordinate, document and report on multichannel campaigns • Manage 12 month content calendar for member and enews subscribers. Create and send communications using Mailchimp. Create reports showing audience engagement. • Work closely with the Development team on membership communications, creating enticing content to retain existing members, Patrons and Benefactors, as well as attracting new stakeholders. • Work collaboratively with the Curatorial team to develop campaigns which promote and attract new visitors to arts and culture exhibitions and events. • Work collaboratively with external contacts including exhibition partners, supporters, and funders. • Support the advertising programme by creating and coordinating advertisements • Proofread and distribute press releases, organise press events and photo calls • Collate and monitor press cuttings and media coverage • Compile and distribute press and media engagement reports to feed into overall marketing monitoring and evaluation to make sure our communications are engaging, relevant and effective • Coordinate distribution of print, publicity and tourism materials, ensuring venue digital and print displays are up to date • Ensure there are adequate levels of print stock and other marketing materials • Be a brand guardian for both staff and external audiences • Work with the Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator to support creation of content for, and update, the website (Wordpress) • Working with the Digital Marketing and Communications Coordinator, support in house photography and production of digital content for digital channels • Champion accessible, clear and intelligent communication across all media and digital platforms to share information with the widest possible audience • Design basic print and digital assets • Day-to-day administrative tasks such as customer queries, digital filing, assist with preparation of presentations and documents, schedule meetings and take minutes • Work with the Visitor Experience team to coordinate audience research across all venues • Maintain customer data via CRM in accordance with Data Protection legislation • Liaise with external designers, photographers, videographers, artists and event coordinators • Attend events as required to assist with customer care, press liaison and/or promotional activity • Support the organisation’s privacy policy, including coordinating photography permissions • Attend in house and external training and skills development sessions on a regular basis This job description outlines the principal responsibilities and duties of the post holder. As a key member of staff, the post holder will be required to attend events, particularly those connected with responsibilities of the post. This role requires frequent travel between Lakeland Arts sites and occasionally further afield. The annual leave entitlement for this post is 33 working days (made up of 20 statutory days, eight Public Bank Holidays and 5 contractual days) per annum.
