Provide information and advice on prescribed or over-the-counter medication on medication regimens, side-effects and interactions. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care. Refer and discharge safely ensuring that safety-netting advice is offered. Triage telephone referrals, calls from external clinicians, patients and others into a range of services appropriately as required. Non-Medical Prescribing If you are employed in a prescribing capacity, you must only prescribe within your scope of practice and comply with the gtd healthcare NMP governance registration processes. You must maintain your knowledge and skills and prescribe within your clinical competencies. The non-medical prescriber is required to comply with organisational NMP governance processes and adhere to local and national prescribing guidance.
