Your Role as a DT Teacher:
Teach Engaging DT Lessons – Deliver high-quality lessons in Design & Technology, covering subjects such as product design, engineering, textiles, and systems and control.
Inspire Creative Thinking – Encourage students to explore and develop their design ideas using a range of materials, tools, and technology.
Promote Problem-Solving & Innovation – Help students build their practical skills and apply critical thinking to real-world challenges and projects.
Support Student Development – Provide constructive feedback and support to students, guiding them in achieving their personal and academic goals in DT.
Create a Positive & Inclusive Classroom – Foster a classroom culture that is supportive, encouraging, and conducive to creative thinking and learning.
Contribute to Extra-Curricular Activities – Lead or support extra-curricular clubs, competitions, and events that extend students’ learning and engagement with Design & Technology.
Who We’re Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level.
Passion for DT – A strong enthusiasm for teaching Design & Technology and inspiring students to engage with and develop their technical skills.
Creative & Practical – A hands-on teaching approach that encourages students to apply their learning through practical projects and problem-solving.
Student-Centered – A commitment to helping students build confidence and achieve their potential in a supportive environment.
Collaborative – Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a positive attitude towards working within a department and across the school.
An Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
