Position Summary:
The Commercial Lending Assistant performs all department functions in accordance with established policies and procedures and acts as the liaison between Loan Officers, Commercial Closing Administrators, Credit Officers, other internal departments, and outside resources to facilitate a smooth and pleasant loan experience for the Borrower.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Acts as a liaison between various parties to facilitate a smooth and pleasant loan experience for the Borrower.
2. Ensures accurate and timely preparation of various reports and presentations for the benefit of the Lending Team and Executive Management.
3. Facilitates the collection and filing of portfolio client periodic reporting, such as financial documents.
4. Ensures proper tracking and processing of Commercial Applications and Appraisals, in compliance with Reg. B requirements.
5. Orders and receives environmental due diligence reports as part of the loan closing process.
6. Acts as a resource for loan servicing requests from branches and the call center, when needed.
7. Supports Loan Officers in the management of past-due loans.
8. Audits loan files post-closing to ensure all required documents are uploaded and imaged properly. Assists with collection of post-closing file document exceptions.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Understanding of the entire commercial loan process, products, and services.
2. Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously and meet service level deadlines.
3. Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound problem-solving skills.
4. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills to prioritize time, workloads, and maintain workflow.
5. Ability to adapt to evolving processes and technologies.
6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and third-party vendors to exercise good judgement and solve problems independently.
7. Willingness to go above and beyond to close a deal including taking extra steps when necessary to ensure completeness of a file.
Education and Experience:
1. Minimum of three years of customer service experience.
2. Financial institution experience with commercial loan administration experience.
3. Experience with Microsoft Suite products.
4. LaserPro and LoanVantage experience.
