About Burton Park:
Burton Park is a 50-bed neurobehavioral rehabilitation hospital specialising in care for patients with acquired brain injury (ABI) and neuro-progressive conditions. Our dedicated multi-disciplinary team includes professionals from psychology, nursing, occupational therapy, speech & language therapy, physiotherapy, social work, and medicine. Role Overview:
As a Consultant Neuropsychologist, you will:
* Provide clinical leadership and oversee the specialised neurobehavioural rehabilitation programme.
* Deliver clinical neuropsychology services across our three wards.
* Engage and contribute to local and National professional networks.
* Build and maintain positive relationships with service commissioners.
* Assess the suitability of referrals to the service.
* Oversee the collection and analysis of clinical outcome measures (e.g., SASBO, MOAS), identifying areas for improvement in our therapeutic programmes.
* Supervise and provide specialist training to the multidisciplinary team, including Assistant Psychologists.
* Foster a research culture within the service.
Professional Qualifications & Memberships:
* Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (BPS accredited and HCPC approved) or equivalent.
* HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist.
* Chartered Member of the BPS.
* Post-doctoral training in clinical neuropsychology and inclusion on the BPS Special Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists is preferred.
* Experience in neuropsychology will be considered for psychologists qualified in other disciplines.
Professional Competencies & Experience:
* Proven experience delivering clinical neuropsychology in neurobehavioral rehabilitation for individuals with ABI and challenging behaviour.
* Strong advocate of neurobehavioral rehabilitation.
* Advanced skills in assessing, formulating, and evaluating complex cases, including managing multifaceted information collaboratively with service users and the multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to produce clear, accurate formulations to inform management plans and ensure consistent, psychologically driven care.
Personal Skills & Qualities:
* Ability to positively influence a range of internal and external stakeholders to promote Brain Injury Services.
* Capable of working with Service Leads to set standards, produce recommendations, and communicate effectively with the wider care team.
Working Arrangements:
We offer flexible working arrangements to cover the contracted 22.5 hours per week, typically spread over three days.
