Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles.
Duties
1. Oversee all aspects of the accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable.
2. Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
3. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial reporting.
4. Manage the budgeting process and provide analytical support for decision-making.
5. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
6. Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that drive business performance.
7. Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero for efficient financial management.
8. Prepare tax returns and ensure timely payments of taxes owed.
Experience
1. Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar financial management role.
2. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
3. Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms.
4. Experience with financial management and reporting processes.
5. Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
6. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
7. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
