A vacancy has arisen within East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service for a full time Service driving instructor. The successful candidate will have a high standard of personal driving both in cars and in LGV's and hold a Category C driving licence for a minimum of three years. An approved driving instructor qualification would be desirable.
Service driving instructors instruct over the entire range of vehicles available to the Service and specific training on these vehicles will be provided. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to attain relevant qualifications in adult education and assessment.
You will need to have a flexible approach to your work in order to deliver the instructor responsibilities required and this will include some evenings/weekend work and instructing across the Service locations. The ability to effectively communicate/provide constructive feedback to a variety of personnel is essential.
The selection process will include an assessed drive, a multi choice knowledge check on Roadcraft and The Highway Code, a 10 minute presentation on a driving related topic and an interview.

Once successfully qualified, the position also attracts a 10% Service Training Centre allowance and opportunities for additional overtime.
ESFRS starting salaries normally commence at the bottom of the salary range.
