An exciting opportunity has arisen with ESNEFT to join the Estates Maintenance Team based at Ipswich Hospital as a Maintenance Assistant.
Reporting to the Estates Officer, the postholder will assist on new work, maintenance and repairs as required, working in accordance with the requirements of HTM's, Fire code, Health & Safety regulations and Trust H&S policies.
The role requires active participation in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes, in addition to the operation of the Trust's current work management control scheme. The post holder will be required to work within the scheme to include completion of all paperwork/IT as necessary.
Your key responsibilities are to undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Trust maintenance management team. The post holder may be asked to work overtime to carry out emergency repairs.
You will be self motivated, flexible and have a relevant NVQ level 2 qualification. You will have previous 'in house' training associated with building services and a good general knowledge of maintenance and recording requirements including the use of relevant tools

• To work in accordance with the requirements of HTM’s, Fire code, health and safety regulations/guidelines and Trust’s health and safety polices.
• To be prepared to work in hazardous areas taking all safety measures to prevent danger, avoid injury and prevent damage to equipment.
• To actively participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance schemes.
• Actively participate in the operation of the Trusts current work management control scheme by working within the scheme including completion of all paperwork/IT required by the scheme. (Including completion of all job tickets, risk assessments, daily worksheets and weekly/monthly timesheets).
• Work overtime to carry out emergency repairs as required by management.
• Undertake emergency cover on site, providing cover for all building services to ensure that emergency repairs occurring out of normal working hours are attended to.
• During normal working hours and emergency cover on site, carry Trust communication devices (e.g. Pagers and/or Two-way radios) to facilitate immediate response to emergencies.
• Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of Trust maintenance management team.
• To liaise with the Trust maintenance management team regarding services, plant and equipment failures.
• Undertake simple fault-finding on all Building Services Systems and Equipment.
• To understand schematic and as fitted engineering drawings.
• Complete all report sheets as necessary.
