What you’ll be doing: Joining Ashtead Technology as Mechanic/Maintenance Technician, you will join our Mechanical Solution service line where you will be responsible for the build, maintenance & operation of our range of diesel, hydraulic, electric & pneumatically powered rental equipment. Some of your other responsibilities will include; Inspecting, testing, repairing and preparing Diesel Driven Pumps, HPUs, Air Powered Reels and compressors Ensuring all relevant and necessary maintenance activities are carried out at planned intervals/when required and are documented correctly Checking in and testing equipment on its return from hire as per workshop procedures Ensuring that all equipment is cosmetically presentable prior to being mobilised on a job. This will involve needle gunning, grinding, rubbing down, undercoating and painting equipment Ensuring that all equipment meets Puwer regulations. This will involve fabricating protective guards to restrict access to moving machinery parts. Measuring, marking, grinding, cutting, drilling, welding, preparing, painting, fitting Responsible for all equipment pre-mobilisation / demobilisation checks. This will involve checking oil levels, grease, fuel, adjustments, function test, pressure test, check certification, check sheets, and completing associated paperwork Building, testing, pre mob checking and maintaining a range of diesel, hydraulic and air driven equipment Assisting clients offsite with various work scopes as required Fabricating and building of rental equipment Maintaining maintenance records and carrying out all routine maintenance duties What experience you'll bring: You will hold a City & Guilds level 3 in HGV maintenance and repair, or industry equivalent (agricultural, plant and marine), or HNC in Mechanical Engineering Experience in the repair, maintenance and testing of technology in a mechanical engineering environment Experience working with mechanical machinery essential Desirable experience, but not essential experience: You can diagnose and repair all types of diesel engines (Detroit, Volvo, CAT, Iveco, Perkins) You have experience in pneumatic and hydraulic systems beneficial Knowledge of rotational systems/equipment Basic electrical knowledge You will hold a Forklift licence or have experience operating a forklift Who we are: Established in 1985, Ashtead Technology is a leading provider of subsea equipment rental solutions, advanced underwater technologies, and support services to the global offshore energy sector.
