We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient Female Support Worker* to work with a lady in her thirties with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy in her own home and in the Cardiff area. Client lives with her husband, cat and dog and likes to live a full and active lifestyle.
Role will involve all personal & domestic care, as well as supporting client to attend and participate in a wide range of different activities, including attending the gym / boxing as well as supporting client to care for her cat and dog. The client completes head painting and runs regular market stalls, the support worker will need to assist with these.
You must hold a recognised Health and Social Care qualification (NVQ Level 2 or a Diploma) OR have completed the All-Wales Induction Framework OR be willing to complete this within 6 months of starting if successful.
Competent IT skills are desirable.
*Please note we are recruiting Female Support Workers due to a genuine occupational requirement of the person we support therefore this role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9
What you will be working:
14 hours per week shifts to be negotiated at interview.
Hourly Rate:
* £13.59 per hour weekdays
* £14.68 per hour weekends
* £11.44 per hour Weekday night / Sleep rate
* £11.91 per hour Weekend night / Sleep rate
What you will have:
Essential:
* You must hold a recognised Health and Social Care qualification (NVQ Level 2 or a Diploma) OR have completed the All-Wales Induction Framework OR be willing to complete this within 6 months of starting if successful.
* You will have a positive interest in active rehabilitation and a desire to enable this person to reach their full potential.
* You will be a driver with a full UK driving licence.
* You are a person with great communication skills especially with the client, her family and other professionals involved.
* You will have a DBS on the update service or will complete an enhanced DBS if successful. Initial DBS check paid for by us.
Desirable:
* Competent IT Skills
* Current training in the following areas: Equality, diversity and inclusion, Health and safety at work, Control of substances hazardous to health, Fire safety awareness, Infection control, Food hygiene, Manual handling, First aid / basic life support including CPR, Safeguarding vulnerable adults, Safeguarding vulnerable children, Conflict management and Lone working.
