At Leonardo, we have a great opportunity for a Project Leader to join the Typhoon Support IPT within the Customer Service and Support Solutions (CS3) Line of Business (LoB). The LoB is a leader in the integration and supply of Surveillance and Protection Technologies, fully Integrated Missions Systems (ISR) & Combat Air platforms including the future concept aircraft Tempest.
An experienced Project Leader is required to join the Typhoon Support Business Area to provide project management and leadership to one of its key Integrated Project Teams (IPTs): Case by Case Repairs (CbC). The applicable IPT contains a blend of air related systems, products and services, which are delivered via a number of support contracts. The IPT has customers across the UK, Europe and Asia and has a well-established reputation of delivering high quality products and systems, which provide a wide range of customer capabilities.
The IPT includes some very high value customer contracts; as well as growth potential over the next few years. This means it is a highly visible and exciting role within the business area and line of business, and plays an important part in contributing to our business success.

Key Responsibility Areas
* Key management and leadership of a cross-functional team with diverse deliverables spanning the project support phases. Demonstrating and leading by example on behaviors, skills and competencies expected of an IPT leading role.
* Working alongside the Project Manager to support the IPT to successfully deliver the IPTs business targets, whilst ensuring adherence to cost, schedule and quality requirements.
* Establishing, developing and maintaining strong relationships with Customers and Suppliers throughout the entire lifecycle of the Project.
* Leading and supporting key customer presentations, engagement and negotiations on behalf of the business.
* Reporting to multiple levels of the organisation; ensuring the consistency and accuracy of the reporting data.
* Promoting a culture of excellence in delivery, best practice implementation and knowledge sharing within the IPT and the business.
* Conducting effective Risk and Opportunity Management, ensuring that all risks and opportunities are recorded, managed and tracked to closure. Where mitigation activities are required, ensure that adequate support is provided to ensure they are undertaken.
* Establishing the tailored Lifecycle Management framework (Project Plans, WBS, OBS and Cost/Control Accounts) that governs the operation of the IPT.
* Co-coordinating the activities of the IPT by establishing appropriate communication mechanisms, encompassing both meetings and reporting requirements.
* Providing direct line management, leadership, feedback, career development and performance management of Project Management staff.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
* Demonstrated experience in a similar level Project Leader role or discipline working with complex cross-functional teams.
* APM PFQ and/or PMQ qualified or equivalent is highly desirable.
* Proven experience in successfully growing a business area as per agreed strategic direction.
* Knowledge of techniques and procedures gained through training including: EVM Standard Theory & Network Planning, Design and Lifecycle Management processes.
* Demonstrable strength of character and strong and clear leadership is essential.
* Strong evidence in being able to collaborate with a wide group of internal and external stakeholders/functions.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* A pro-active individual with a "can do" attitude, striving for continuous improvement, effectiveness and efficiency with a focus on achieving high performance against objectives.
* Excellent understanding of financial controls.
* Excellent computer literacy, including all Microsoft Office applications and SAP functions related to Project execution, cost control and planning.
* Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload and to work autonomously.
* Flexible and adaptable to change and adversity.
* Excellent problem solving skills and initiative with the ability to think laterally.
