An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our committed and dynamic staff team at Balbardie PS as Principal Teacher. We are a non-denominational primary serving the town of Bathgate and we are happy to be celebrating our 120th anniversary this year.
Balbardie PS and Bathgate Early Years Centre are part of the Bathgate Academy cluster of schools. We work collaboratively with colleagues across all 6 schools to deliver a diverse and inclusive learning experience. Our school roll is currently 346 learners across 14 mainstream classes and 3 specialist resource classes. Our early years setting, Bathgate Early Years Centre, is an integral part of our school community. The roll of the Early Years Centre is currently 130.
In addition to an enthusiastic team of class teachers, we have 7 Pupil Support Workers and 6 Advanced Pupil Support Workers who support learning for groups and individuals at all stages of the school. The successful candidate will join a Senior Leadership Team of 6 – the Headteacher, the Depute Headteacher and 3 existing Principal Teachers.
Balbardie PS has a very good reputation within the community and is well supported by an active and involved Parent Council and wider parent forum. The Parent Council works in close partnership with the school and provides support in identifying areas for improvement. There are well developed, supportive partnerships established with a number of local organisations and groups.
Distributed leadership is promoted across the whole staff team. Collegiate approaches are strong and enhance a positive climate for learning across the school.
