We are looking for a proactive and compassionate Personal Assistant to support Joe, a young man with additional needs, in enjoying meaningful, engaging days out. Joe has a wide range of interests including history, steam trains, comedy, walking, museums, and National Trust properties. He enjoys exploring new places and building positive, trusting relationships. Role Details: Location: Based in Redhill, with trips to surrounding areas Hours: Every other Saturday to begin with (daytime), with the possibility of additional hours, including night care, as trust and familiarity build Activities: Visiting museums, the seaside, towns, steam railways, swimming, walks, and more – the PA is encouraged to bring ideas and help Joe shape the plan for his day About Joe: Joe is an active volunteer, participating in a wide range of community roles including food bank work, local magazine delivery, and drama groups. He enjoys reading (8–12 age range), jigsaws, classic British comedy (Dad’s Army, Only Fools and Horses, etc.), and is part of his local choir. Joe thrives with routine, kindness, and a supportive environment. What We’re Looking For: A patient and enthusiastic person with a genuine interest in supporting individuals with additional needs Someone who can travel confidently, using either public transport or their own vehicle An individual with shared interests (history, trains, comedy, etc.) is a bonus but not essential Must be respectful of Joe’s comfort levels (he is scared of dogs and may be quiet until trust builds) Comfortable around cats (a cat lives in the home) This is a fulfilling opportunity to support someone in exploring the world around them, building confidence, and enjoying shared experiences.
