Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Production Choke Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
1. Identification and implementation of production improvement initiatives
2. Nodal analysis, well performance modelling and network optimisation
3. Production well test analysis and validation
4. Preparation of weekly Well Information Pack (well and reservoir management guidelines)
5. Well allocation management
6. Calculation of SMPP (Structural Maximum Production Potential)
7. Provide input to choke model & production loss reporting process
8. Contribute to preparation of technical and commercial justification for well interventions & workovers
9. Prepare input for partners meetings and annual production reports (Regulatory and Corporate)
10. Identify and scope requirements for 3rd party studies and manage same
11. Occasional offshore visits to supervise execution of critical projects, and to interface with offshore team (min. one visit per quarter)
12. Collaboration - Works collaboratively and ensures that all teams demonstrate the willingness and ability to collaborate with others to achieve results via networking, knowledge sharing and joint problem solving
13. Capability Development - Identifies and utilises opportunities to develop people through well-considered work placements and formal interventions. Looks to enhance organisational capability wherever possible and demonstrates a personal commitment to lifelong learning
Requirements:
1. Relevant varied petroleum/production engineering experience in a production operations environment, preferably with a major operator
2. Some experience of gas lift design, operation and trouble shooting
3. Working knowledge of associated interface disciplines e.g. well interventions, G&G, reservoir engineering, production facilities etc.
4. Proficiency using software such as Prosper, GAP, OFM, OpenServer, SPAN, ProcessNet, ProcessBook/ PI Vision etc.
5. Technical proficiency in PVT analysis & interpretation
6. Understanding of production chemistry issues associated with waterflood reservoirs
7. Understanding of rock mechanical issues associated with production and injection
8. Understanding of cased hole logging principles and application
9. Appreciation of well integrity principles and application
10. Appreciation of metering principles and application
11. Excellent presentation and report writing skills
12. Effective relationship builder at all levels, both internally & externally
