The post holder will be required to work at the Radiology Departments across the University Health Board to meet the requirements of the service. The base of the post holder will be at Prince Charles Hospital. This Post Is Structured Around 5 Core Functions To ensure the provision of effective, efficient and appropriate high quality patient care to patients who attend diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures. To promote evidence based practice and act as an accountable role model and clinical expert. To support the Radiology Sister/Charge Nurse in the supervision of staff and daily allocation of work tasks within the department. To work with the Radiology Sister and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards of nursing practice and staff development. To complete a competency framework, gaining knowledge and skills in the clinical area and to join the out of hours on call service The successful candidate will be required to support the Sister/Nurse manager in all managerial processes within the team. The successful candidate will be required to manage the the clinical service at PCH and care for patients undergoing interventional & therapeutic procedures and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate will be required to have good time management & Organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a close multi-disciplinary team. There is a requirement for this job to wear protective equipment, it would be recommended to visit the department to familiarise yourself with the PPE and duties required of this role. Responsible for the ordering of department stock, which requires the use of our electronic ordering systems ( Oracle). Responsible for all mandatory departmental audits are adhered to. Undertake appropriate physical and psychological observation and monitoring of patients/clients, documenting and communicating effectively. Support the Radiology Sister in Human Resources Policies, such as Management of Absence, Disciplinary or Grievance matters. Support the Radiology Directorate’s PADR process, conducting PADRs on members of the nursing team as instructed by the Radiology Sister.
