The internship program is a fully self-supported program.
1. Each intern will be assigned a “track” at the discretion of the church staff and the Session, based upon the intern’s experience, gifting, and future ministry vision.
o Think of “track” as similar to a college “major”. While every student must complete the basic level classes, one moves onto the more specific classes afterward. For the specific “tracks”, all interns will go through the basic requirements of the internship while they will also have specific tasks and readings that pertain to the specific task.
o Tracks include: Pastoral Ministry, Biblical Counseling, and Missions/Evangelism/Apologetics.
2. Full-time internships will consist of 10-15 hours per week of general intern training and 25-30+ hours per week will be devoted to the intern’s specific personal ministry track.
o Training includes assigned reading, weekly lectures, one-on-ones with the Senior Pastor or others, and other assignments (such as sermons, articles, etc.).
o Regular work includes the full variety of ministry in the church. This would include Children, Youth, College, Men, Women. It can also cover areas such as teaching, counseling, discipleship, event planning, evangelism, outreach, and fellowship events. This is based on: First, the intern’s track. Second, the pastoral needs of the church.
3. The internship term will last for one twelve-month period.
4. Attendance Commitments:
o Morning and evening worship at GPC
o GPC staff/prayer meetings
o Staff book discussions
o Internship seminar
o Participation in the Four Course Meal (Sunday School, Sunday Morning Worship, Sunday Evening, Midweek Fellowship)
Note: The job listing expires on March 1, 2025.
