Brief Description
Manage the sourcing activities for multi-million pound, medium cost and business risk opportunities, to include idea generation and innovation across complex spend categories and work collaboratively with relevant customers and stakeholders to create and deliver significant commercial and contractual value.

We are looking for dynamic procurement professionals to join our team, leading high value and complex sourcing projects. If you love to engage with your customers, thrive on using your own initiative, have great people skills and are passionate about making a difference, please read on.
Our team leads exciting infrastructure related sourcing projects including construction projects, professional consultancy, civils examinations, fencing and vegetation services, personal protective equipment, ecological services and specialist rail plant. All of which supports our vision to Putting Passengers First by keeping our rail infrastructure operational.
You'll work closely with your customers and our business experts to undertake pre-market engagement with the supply chain, draft sourcing strategies and tender documentation. You'll be the expert leading the sourcing project, undertake complex commercial evaluations, including using your professional knowledge to lead negotiations with suppliers. You will have excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, be proactive, have in depth experience of the end-to-end procurement process, be happy to challenge and be challenged and be prepared to go above and beyond to support our customers.
Understanding your customer's needs will put you in the best place to identify the optimum strategic direction and put in place contracting strategies that embrace change, innovation and creative thinking. We want you to bring us new ideas to help us:

2. be more sustainable;
3. be more efficient – financially and programme management;
4. introduce innovation from our supply chain; and
5. provide creative contracting strategies.
It would be great if you can demonstrate the below:
* Can demonstrate capability and experience of delivering end-to-end procurement (from specification receipt through to contract award) processes (public or private sector).
* Leads as part of a cross-functional team to understand requirements.
* Develops quality strategy documents for complex tenders that align with wider business and (relevant) external factors.
* Can demonstrate significant experience in developing tender documentation in line with the business requirements and objectives.
* Identifies perceived and relevant areas of risk using detailed analysis and records.
* Leads negotiation in tender processes.
* Demonstrates understanding of and delivers savings.
Desirable
* Has an understanding of public sector procurement legislation and can demonstrate the importance of managing compliant procurements in line with the regulations.
* Experience in delivering multi-million pound medium cost / medium risk business requirements (public or private sector).
* Line management experience.
* Is a member of the chartered institute of Purchasing & Supply.
* Enables opportunities for innovation and benefits realisation.
