Our client is seeking a skilled Network Architect (DV or SC) to join their Defence & Security team on a contract basis. This role involves delivering high-quality network architecture solutions and ensuring compliance with Authority standards. The position is based in Corsham with the flexibility of remote work for three days a week.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Utilising knowledge and experience in LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, data-centre LAN, SD networks, telephony, mobile solutions infrastructure, unified comms, network management solutions, network-specific security, and remote access technologies.
2. Providing advice and guidance to Fixed Networks Product Owners on MSP service transition and implementation of new services.
3. Reviewing and assuring MSP and third-party supplier Design Documentation including High Level Designs (HLD), Low Level Designs (LLD), Requests for Change (RFCs), and Impact Assessments (IA).
4. Collaborating with engineers to ensure systems are designed practically, agreeing SLAs, and engaging with third-party suppliers.
5. Assuring transition to meet Go Live dates and complying with Authority standards such as JSP604.
6. Reviewing Obsolescence designs and TLMPs for FN Products, engaging with Asset Managers, and supporting the production of suitable obsolescence plans.
7. Acting as a point of escalation and cascading messages, standards, and best practices from other architecture teams to the network architecture team.
8. Undertaking stakeholder management and communicating network concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
9. Providing regular and ad hoc reporting into Fixed Networks, Fixed Connectivity, and wider Defence Digital project governance cycles.
10. Providing Subject Matter Expertise to support service deliveries and input into NGCN.
Job Requirements:
1. Governance and assurance understanding with experience in delivering service assurance.
2. Proficiency in IT infrastructure design and implementation, including virtual and cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
3. Capability to create and design systems to meet defined business needs and translate business problems into technical designs.
4. Skill in systems integration, including designing network services that integrate with existing or new cloud services and infrastructure.
5. Technical understanding of the necessary technologies to fulfil the role responsibilities and tasks, staying informed of industry developments.
6. Experience in troubleshooting and problem resolution across diverse technology capabilities including computing, storage, networking, and cloud computing solutions.
