We're excited to be recruiting for a Quality Engineer on behalf of our client based in Ely – an excellent opportunity for someone with proven experience in a quality role within a precision manufacturing environment, strong communication skills, and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings. This role has opened up due to a surge in new motorsport projects and will see you working across two closely situated sites, supporting a well-established Quality team.

What’s the job?
* Always ensure safe working practices in accordance with the Health and Safety policy of the company
* Support production with quality feedback and improvements
* Promote a culture of customer focus throughout the organisation
* Provide holiday cover and additional resource for CMM inspection using PC-DMIS & M-Cosmos and manual methods when required
* Compile FAIR/PPAP & Process inspection sheet documentation in accordance with customer requirements
* Liaise with customers and suppliers on resolution and corrective action implementation of quality issues
* Deal with customer returns/reworks
* Process/track/resolve customer SDNR’s (Supplier defect notification reports) and NCRs (Non-conformance reports)
* Create and maintain inspection plans for production
* Produce quality documents as required by customer specific contracts
* In conjunction with manufacturing staff, develop and review processes and assess effectiveness in achieving product realization
* Perform product audits against customer and statutory requirements and provide internal training in this activity
* Maintain a visible product traceability record system compatible with ISO 9001
* Monitor the quality of sub-contract product and liaise with suppliers when required
* Directly manage the calibration of measuring equipment and maintain a full equipment list in support of this activity
* Deliver quality training to staff as required
* Assist manufacturing in the deployment and maintenance of 5S workplace organization
* Support other functions within the Quality Department
Who can do this?
* The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
* CMM operation experience. Shearline uses both PC-DMIS and M-Cosmos – training can be given to the successful applicant in these software
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a team
* Experience in investigating both internal and customer Non-conformances including root cause analysis and corrective preventative action
* Familiarity with FAIR requirements, bubble drawings and process inspection sheets
* The ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment
* CMM programming experience would be an advantage but not essential, preferably M-Cosmos and/or PC-DMIS, training can be given to the successful applicant
* Experience & Knowledge of managing/working under ISO 9001 processes & ISO9001 QMS and process creation would be advantageous
