Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Cardiff
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Oversight: Ensure all products are manufactured according to specifications and quality standards while minimizing waste using modern lean manufacturing techniques.
2. Planning & Resource Management: Understand and anticipate production requirements for the upcoming days, weeks, and months, including resources, skills, and materials.
3. KPI Management: Monitor and communicate key performance indicators such as labour costs, yield, wastage, customer service, plan completion, and quality reports.
4. Team Training & Development: Ensure all team members are suitably trained, motivated, and understand their objectives and standards. Work with the training department to maintain up-to-date training records.
5. Performance Management: Oversee the performance, conduct, attendance, and timekeeping of all employees, conducting investigations and disciplinary actions as necessary with HR support.
6. Recruitment Support: Collaborate with the Head of Operations on recruitment matters.
7. Absence Management: Implement a process for employees to complete return-to-work forms after any absence, keeping management updated on short- and long-term absence issues.
8. Meeting Facilitation: Lead department tiered meetings to foster communication and teamwork.
9. Documentation Compliance: Ensure all production, health and safety, and technical documentation is completed and forwarded in a timely manner.
10. Safety Management: Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, including proper PPE usage.
11. New Product Development: Collaborate with the New Product Development and technical teams to successfully launch new products through effective production trials.
12. Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively with other departments to find solutions to operational challenges while adhering to company policies.
Qualifications:
1. Proven experience in production management or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
2. Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and supply chain management.
3. Mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
4. Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
