Join our dedicated team as a SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) in Lincoln and help provide the support and guidance students need to thrive As a SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with a student to support their individual needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 tailored support to a student with SEMH needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Assist the student in managing their emotions and behaviour within a structured setting. Work collaboratively with teachers and the SEN team to implement personalised strategies and interventions. Support the student in accessing the curriculum and engaging with learning activities. Build a strong and trusting relationship with the student to encourage confidence and independence. Maintain accurate records of the student’s progress and provide feedback to relevant staff and parents/guardians. SEMH 1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) Requirements: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or similar needs (desirable but not essential). A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to supporting students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively and adapt to the student’s individual needs. A proactive and resilient attitude with a commitment to the student’s well-being and development. Hold an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
