About Us & The Role We are seeking to appoint a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and welcoming team. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with children and a TA qualification. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about inclusion and who has experience of supporting children with additional needs, including children with EHCPs. We would also like the ideal candidate to be able to work well with other classroom practitioners to support the needs of all the children in the class. Key Requirements The successful candidate will: Assist in the delivery of lessons/sessions and interact with the teacher and pupils as required Feedback pupil outcomes to the teacher to assist planning Undertake agreed learning activities/teaching programmes, adjusting activities according to pupil responses. Provide pastoral support to pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities. Participate in the assessment of pupils. Establish constructive relationships with pupils and interact with them according to individual needs. Support provision for pupil with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder, through one to one support and provision of differentiated materials. Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model. Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils. Encourage pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher. Support individuals or groups during independent /group work, e.g. explain tasks, reinforce key objectives/concepts or vocabulary, use practical apparatus. Use specialist skills/ knowledge/ training to provide support in specialist areas Provide information and advice to enable pupils to make choices about their own learning/behaviour. Challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem. Encourage pupils with specific learning needs to develop their independent learning skills, engaging with other pupils whilst keeping a monitoring brief or sharing this with other adults in the team Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress, achievement, and behaviour, under guidance of the teacher Assist the teacher with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour/Support plans. Relevant Allowances Band F 7-10 – £21,907-£23,350 FTE pro rata Hours 28.75 hours per week We will accept applications without a level 2 qualification but the pay would be set at level 1.
