Job Description: We are seeking a Financial Accountant to join our group finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role will be responsible for supporting the preparation of the group financial statements, ensuring accuracy is achieved through adherence to robust financial control framework including process creation, monitoring and refinement, financial review, and reconciliations.
Key responsibilities:
* Timely and accurate production of monthly management accounts
* Reviewing and posting accruals and prepayments
* Balance sheet analysis and reconciliations
* Group consolidation
* Monthly VAT returns
* Key contact for group audit and tax requirements
* Responsible for producing budgets for their areas in the group
* Group cashflow development and reporting
* Developing and documenting controls and processes
* Reviewing and maintaining Fixed Asset registers
* Managing and reviewing Hire Purchase
* Working with key stakeholders across all areas of the Group

Essential Skills:
* A strong understanding of financial accounting, ideally gained within an FMCG environment.
* Degree in accountancy or a similar relevant qualification.
* Holder of a recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS).
* Experience of ERP systems.
* Strong level of IT literacy, particularly Excel.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Engaged team player, both within and out with a finance context.
* Demonstrates a tenacity to drive process, financial control, and review.
* Strong process orientation, logical thinker, and analytical ability.
* A continuous improvement mindset combined with a high level of proactivity.
