Deliver therapeutic renal replacement therapy to patients as required within set protocols and within the scope of the Dialysis Assistant remit. Perform patient assessment (under supervision and after appropriate delegation from the registered practitioner), plan and deliver high standards of care. Develop, implement and evaluate individual care plans, utilising models, protocols, practical and theoretical knowledge. Perform area specific clinical competencies to enhance the delivery of patient care. Initiate renal replacement therapies as appropriate to patients individual needs. Evaluate and assess patient's vascular access for dialysis. Administer anticoagulants as part of Renal Replacement Therapy. Maintain vascular access whilst initiative, during and concluding renal replacement therapy. Observe for signs of infection and report to the registered nurse or appropriate medical team.
