We have a fixed term contract of 2 months for an Accounts Assistant specializing in Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable, based in the City of London. 3 days in office and 2 days from home. Salary up to £38,000.
Ideally, you will be immediately available.
You will be responsible for maintaining purchase ledgers and liaising with suppliers and colleagues regarding posting invoices, payment runs, and supplier account reconciliations.
1. Posting, coding, and batching of supplier invoices.
2. Compiling of fortnightly payment run prior to authorization.
3. Allocating payments made to supplier accounts.
4. Reconciling supplier accounts within Sage 200.
5. Setting up supplier accounts and verifying changes of bank details.
6. Maintaining old ledger balances.
7. Investigating and correcting errors within the Sage 200 project accounting module.
8. Dealing with supplier queries via email or phone.
9. Liaising with colleagues to assist with ledger queries.
10. Raising of ad hoc payments and staff expenses.
11. Ad hoc / additional duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

3. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, able to liaise with people at all levels.
4. Good problem-solving skills, and able to use initiative.
5. Organized and self-motivated, able to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.
6. Ability to work calmly under pressure.
7. Approachable team player.
8. Flexible and proactive approach to work.
9. Strong IT skills, with intermediate Excel skills.
