This role involves but is not limited to:
1. Responding to post, telephone enquiries and queries from Clients.
2. Assisting Fee Earners in the Clinical Negligence department and progressing cases where required.
3. Effective management of own time, ensuring that chargeable and non-chargeable hours targets are met under supervision.
4. Working on files as appropriate, including drafting letters, collating evidence, preparing cost letters and liaising with medical experts and other third parties.
5. Preparing basic schedules of loss and witness statements and assisting in the preparation of more complex legal documents.
6. Attending conferences and hearings to support Fee Earners.
7. Carrying out administrative duties as appropriate including arranging conferences with experts, paying invoices and closing files.
8. Dealing with new Clients and liaising with regards to the initial enquiries.
9. Managing diaries, ensuring they are all up-to-date and remind Fee Earners of meetings and Court deadlines.
10. Enter, maintain and update client details and relevant information on the system.
Requirements:
1. Ability to use case management systems
2. High standard of computer literacy
3. Must be adaptable and flexible
4. Must have good time management and organisational skills
5. Ability to work amidst frequent interruptions whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
