Following a recent restructure and new investment, Careers, Employability & Opportunity, which is part of the Student & Academic Services directorate, now comprises 40 staff. We are responsible for providing 40,000 students with equal access to career development, employability, and opportunities including international mobility in preparation to effectively compete in the global job market. We take a leading role in supporting Learning & Teaching, Student Experience, and International strategies as part of an institutional ecosystem of student education and support. Our new employability framework is currently in development and we have an opportunity for a Careers and Employability Manager to join our team on a fixed-term basis. This role will make a significant contribution to the embedding of employability within the curriculum and the achievement of Learning & Teaching strategy objectives. As a member of the Academic Partnerships Team within Careers, Employability & Opportunity, you will be responsible for the embedding and extracting of employability and skills through the curriculum and co-curriculum for one of our four Colleges. Working in partnership with a range of academic and professional services staff, employers and students, this role will involve facilitating the design and delivery of careers and employability-related programmes to UG and PGT students. Using our new employability framework, you will provide consultancy, specialised knowledge and expertise to help frame a consistent approach to employability across the University and will therefore make a significant contribution to the ambitions of the University’s Learning and Teaching strategy.
