Quest Designer - Live Content / World Building
We're building a next-generation browser-based MMORPG — system-driven, content-rich, and scaling fast. We've raised $10M in funding, we have an active community (25k+ Discord) and a deeply unique vision that's pushing the boundaries of multiplayer game design. We ship weekly content updates and build fast.
The Mission
We're looking for a Live Content / Quest Designer who can own the weekly playable experience. You'll be the architect of short-form content: tight quests, emotional arcs, narrative moments, repeatable missions, and world-building that actually plays. You'll have a stable build 7 days a week, and push content into dev/production whenever you want.
You'll work directly with narrative, design, and live ops — with a direct line to the founder. You'll design content that launches weekly and lives in the game forever.
You'll be given full autonomy to design and own:
* Quest formats
* Dialogue flows
* Story arcs (1-2 week loops)
* Repeatable content templates (e.g., faction dailies, bounty boards)
* Event scripting
* Narrative-driven reward loops

Requirements
Who You Are
* You live to build quests — not just write docs
* You dive into tools, break things, and get playable demos running fast
* You don't wait for approval — you ship, test, and iterate to learn
* You are a gameplay-focused narrative designer or quest/content designer who's shipped live content
* Experienced designing repeatable and one-time narrative quest structures
* Obsessed with player experience, story pacing, and moment-to-moment engagement
* Able to write dialogue, design systems, and build experiences with minimal oversight
* Understands progression, rewards, and how to keep players coming back
* Comfortable working in a high-cadence team where shipping weekly is the norm
* You want to make games that mean something — and that feel good to play
* An IC or team player that's capable of delivering end-to-end content, testing and producing
* Using AI tools to improve the speed and quality of your work, making you a 100x designer.
Bonus Points
* You've shipped quests or content in games like: RuneScape, Genshin, Warframe, WoW, Albion, Fallout, Cyberpunk.
* You've used tools like Twine, Ink, Unity, Lua, Unreal Blueprints, or custom in-house scripting tools
* You've built or documented content pipelines before — even in hacky ways
* You've worked in a live game or MMO and understand how LiveOps and story work together
* You've done writing for games, short films, or ARGs that reached real audiences
