Quantity Surveyor
Red Rock Consultants are working in partnership with a well-established, family-run groundworks and civil engineering contractor based in Coventry. With a proud heritage and a reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK, our client has built a portfolio of works ranging from £50k to over £3 million.
They are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced QS to be part of a growing company with a strong focus on teamwork, high standards, and delivering exceptional results.
The Role:
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in managing the commercial aspects of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing tenders, estimates, and cost plans for a variety of groundworks and civil engineering projects.
* Monitoring budgets, costs, and cash flow to maximize project profitability.
* Managing subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance.
* Undertaking valuations, identifying variations, and resolving contractual issues.
* Attending site meetings to ensure progress aligns with financial forecasts.
* Producing detailed reports on project performance for both internal and client use.
Required
* Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks, earthworks, or civil engineering sectors is essential.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, particularly NEC or JCT forms.
* Excellent analytical and negotiation skills with an eye for detail.
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
* Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office.
* A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
