Job Summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic salaried GP to join our friendly, high-achieving and forward thinking practice in Gamston.
The role is for 4-6 sessions. Gamston Medical Centre has a well-established and experienced team. The practice team consists of GPs, Nurses, Clinical Pharmacists, and an HCA. Our clinical team is supported by our excellent administrative, secretarial & reception teams.
Main duties of the job
As a practice, we deliver a high standard of clinical care for our patients. As an organisation, we keep pace with primary care development and deliver a good experience for patients and our staff. We are a GP training practice.
It is taken as essential, that you will have very good clinical knowledge and skills and also be committed to continual personal and practice quality improvement.

Job Description
Post: Salaried GP
Reporting to: Nominated Partner/PCN lead
Accountable to: PCN Clinical Director
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The post-holder will manage a clinical caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. Responsibilities will reflect requirements of the NHS GP Contracts, and as such may be subject to change as services adapt.
Clinical Responsibilities:
1. In accordance with the practice timetable, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties including surgery, telephone and online consultations, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions, and dealing with queries and correspondence in a timely fashion.
2. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
3. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
4. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
5. In consultation with patients, developing care plans for health.
6. Providing counselling and health education.
7. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
8. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
9. Collecting data for audit purposes.
10. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
11. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary.
12. Completing medical reports as required.
13. Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines.
14. Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
15. Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
16. Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.

Person Specification
Essential Circumstances:
* Car owner/driver, with exclusive access to a vehicle.
* Able to participate in on-call advice and support service.
* Ability to work autonomously in the primary care setting.
Essential Qualifications:
* GMC Registered, not subject to suspension.
* Qualified General Practitioner.
* Currently on a CCG performers list.
* Clear enhanced DBS check.
* Evidence of CPD.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team in a UK General Practice.
* Understanding of NHS systems and challenges within primary care.
* Evidence of excellent organisational and planning skills.
* Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
* Basic IT skills in word processing, excel, and email.
* Ability to maintain accurate records.
* Understanding of clinical governance.
* Able to work on own initiative.
