The Trust faced a number of challenges in the delivery of cancer access standards. The creation of a Cancer Services Care Group with a dedicated leadership team has enabled the Trust to focus on ensuring it not only achieves these standards, but develops a strategy to enable it to deliver excellent services to the populations it serves. This approach has already led to significant improvement in achievement of the cancer standards over the past year. The care group continues to develop its strategies to ensure this progress continues into the future.
