To complete pre-planned maintenance and service of electrical equipment and engineering services within the Trust's establishments.
Main Duties of the Job
As a team member of a multi-disciplined workforce, you will undertake work associated with engineering plant, building fabric, and equipment within the Trust's establishments. You will follow departmental and Trust operating policies and procedures, guided by building and Health & Safety regulations. This role requires close collaboration with the Estates Officer while also being capable of working independently without regular supervision.

Job Responsibilities
1. To undertake planned and reactive maintenance.
2. Be responsible for tools, plant, and materials used within the scope of the Estates Department.
3. Ensure safety procedures are observed in the use of plant equipment and materials, maintaining a safe working environment in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
4. Work outside your trade in emergencies or as directed by the Estates Officer/Head of Estates/On Call Manager.
5. Assist with ordering materials for all types of maintenance work.
6. Respond to instructions given via the Estates maintenance reporting system and complete paperwork to record time and materials used.
7. Provide feedback to the Estates Officer on any further action required for the work to be fully completed.
8. Hold a clean current driving licence and be able to drive.
9. Perform any other duties as delegated by the Estates Officer/Head of Estates relevant to the post/department.
10. Participate in appropriate training as required by this position and determined by the Estates Management Staff.
11. Interpret technical information and operational manuals, taking into account Health & Safety and current legislation.
12. Prioritize your own workload and manage responsibilities appropriately.
13. Provide support for processes, policies, guidance, SOPs, and maintenance of Mechanical & Electrical policies, guidelines, legislation, and statutory duties.
14. Participate in the Trust's staff survey as required.
15. Ensure electrical inspection, testing, and maintenance records are maintained and updated.
16. Maintain and provide assurance reports on the status of compliance with electrical requirements and statutory duties.
17. Carry out surveys and maintain records and reports necessary to support the maintenance of the built environment.
18. Negotiate with departments for access to allow maintenance, explaining technical issues to non-technical staff.
19. Assist the Estates Officer in maintaining stock and supplies for the Estates Department.
20. Participate in governance training as required.
Person Specification
Education, Qualifications & Training
* Apprenticeship time served as a maintenance electrician.
* City and Guilds & NVQ (or equivalent trade certificate).
* 18th Edition Regulations.
Experience
* Recent and significant post-qualification experience, preferably within a healthcare environment.
* Experience of working in a team.
* Experience in an appropriate electrical maintenance role.
* Additional relevant trade experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Electrical installation and maintenance skills.
* Familiarity with the current Edition Electrical Regulations.
* Experience working on large electrical systems.
* Observation skills for non-compliance during routine periodic tasks.
* Ability to work reliably on your own initiative.
* IT literate, including various types of software and network variants.
