Assistant Accountant The Opportunity Fully supported and reporting to the Accounts Manager this role offers a great opportunity for personal development and career progression in line with company succession plan. Key Tasks and responsibilities: Maintain Debtors and Sales Ledger transactions, Customer invoicing and receipts, Customer Statements and Credit Control. Maintain Debtor Credit Accounts Maintain Creditor and Supplier ledger transactions, Supplier Invoicing including import documentation and VAT transactions, Monthly Bacs run, Supplier Statements. Manage bank transactions, payments to UK and foreign currency transactions and bank reconciliations. Payroll and Pension for up to 20 people Petty Cash Project Costings VAT returns, generate and submit in line with HMRC Guidelines Produce Monthly reports for the Accounts Manager to support production of management accounts Preparation of Monthly Reports for Management Arranging foreign currency trades as required General accounts administration Skills and attributes required: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills AAT qualified (Level 3 and above) or equivalent Confidence and experience to contribute new ideas towards company growth Disciplined approach to meet deadlines and ownership of tasks At least 5 years' experience in accounting Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and Sage 50 Accounts Experience in the whole range of accounting functions Ability to multitask and solve problems Excellent attention to detail A high level of organisation Benefits The position is full time 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday with 45 minutes for lunch and Friday 8.30am to 4pm with 30 minutes lunch.The position is office basedUp to £30,000 paThe role offers opportunities to progressWorkplace Pension Scheme
