We are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician with hands-on experience to work out of our Northeast London water production sites. You will be carrying out planned maintenance on all our Mechanical assets on our various sites. This role will involve at times, fault finding, diagnosing, and fixing critical asset failures.
* Working on various equipment, involved in water transfer within water treatment works and transmission of water throughout the network, as well as smaller chemical dosing systems.
* Investigating mechanical plant failures and carrying out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions for our customers. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents. Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience.
* Providing technical advice to the wider team, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and providing training or support for technical trainees if required.
* Participation in a 24/7 out-of-hours’ standby Rota will be required after a suitable period of training and assessment.
We’re looking for you to have:
* A time-served apprentice with significant experience in mechanical systems. An NVQ or C&G, level 3 in mechanical engineering, and an upskill qualification in mechanical NVQ2/3 is essential.
* Experience working on large industrial plant equipment, including various pumps within the utility industry, would be beneficial.
* Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are essential.
* A valid driving license is essential, and all necessary equipment, such as vehicles and tools, is provided.
* Be physically capable of carrying out the role as you will work in confined spaces with the successful completion of the appropriate training.
What you should bring to the role:
* NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical engineering qualification.

* Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
