About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our client's team in a senior engineering capacity, providing critical support to maintenance activities on site. As a Senior Maintenance Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance services, ensuring seamless production processes and maintaining the highest standards of equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Maintenance Engineering Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:
* Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and technicians on site
* Coordinating and leading complex maintenance projects, including breakdowns, PPM, and scheduled activities
* Maintaining strong relationships with operational teams, suppliers, and contractors to ensure smooth delivery of maintenance services
* Developing and implementing effective maintenance strategies to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime
* Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with GMP regulations
Requirements
To succeed as a Senior Maintenance Engineering Specialist, you will require:
* A minimum of City & Guilds qualification in an engineering discipline or equivalent
* Extensive experience in FMCG, Pharma, or Food Manufacturing industry, preferably within maintenance engineering
* Demonstrable knowledge of sterile manufacturing and filling processes, particle inspection equipment, automated container integrity test equipment, labelling equipment, bottle filling equipment, cartoning equipment, thermo-former based packaging lines, operation of PLC based equipment, pumps/motors & mechanical drives, electrical drives and basic electrical diagnostics, ampoule/vial/bottle/carton transportation systems, building services including HVAC, boilers and Water plant, process pipework and systems, autoclaves/sterilising ovens
* Familiarity with GMP classified areas and regulatory requirements
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
