The Head of Clinical Audit and Quality will lead and manage clinical audit and quality improvement initiatives at Psychiatry-UK (PUK), playing a key role in the development and execution of the organisation’s quality strategy. Reporting directly to the Director of Quality and Safety, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing support to the Director of Quality and Safety when required. This is a home-based role (applicants must reside in the UK), with occasional travel for face-to-face meetings at various locations across the UK. As Head of Clinical Audit and Quality, you will: Act as Psychiatry-UK's lead expert in providing clinical governance analysis, guidance and support to executives, senior managers/clinicians and other staff across the organisation. Lead the development and implementation of Psychiatry-UK’s clinical audit and quality strategy, ensuring alignment with national standards and best practices. Provide expertise and guidance on clinical audit methodologies, processes, and design to staff at all levels. Oversee the Clinical Audit & Quality Team, including the development and delivery of annual work plans. Work with senior clinicians and the Medical Director to develop and implement audit and quality improvement strategies. Ensure compliance with CQC standards, managing inspections and responding to regulatory requirements. Coordinate and monitor Psychiatry-UK’s annual clinical audit programme, ensuring it meets national and local priorities. Analyse and report on clinical audit findings, identifying themes for improvement and escalating issues when necessary. Oversee the integration of NICE guidance into clinical practice and advise on self-assessments against national recommendations. Lead the response to CQC data/information requests and manage actions following inspections, ensuring timely reporting and closure. Act as a key liaison during CQC inspections, coordinating logistics, interviews, and focus groups with staff. Ensure Psychiatry-UK participates in the national Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) programme and explore local PROMs opportunities. Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience: Extensive experience in clinical audit, quality improvement, and senior healthcare management. Expertise in complex data systems, analysis, and reporting across diverse sources. In-depth knowledge of CQC regulatory requirements and quality assurance frameworks. Proven ability to develop tools, training, and strategies for quality improvement. Skilled in designing and delivering training, including clinical audit methodologies. Strong report-writing capabilities, including Board-level reporting. Project management experience, with the ability to oversee large-scale initiatives. Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint. Relevant master’s degree or equivalent experience, with postgraduate qualifications in clinical audit, effectiveness, or leadership. Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
