Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to lead on the Christmas show of Sleeping Beauty at Junction Goole Dec 2025. This is an in-house produced show.
Job Description
The post holder will have professional experience in theatre production, including experience of production management or equivalent in a producing house/ touring. Working collaboratively with directors, designers, other creatives, and theatre departments and knowledge of environmentally sustainable working practices.
Our ideal candidate will also have a broad experience of technical theatre covering all aspects, but with a strong knowledge of production sound.
Overall production management responsibility including working alongside the creative team, scheduling and managing the production process, leading production meetings, managing budgets, schedules and show staff.
Supporting and leading the technical production staff with some elements of design and possible operation when required.
The fee would be £700 per week, no additional per diems.
We'd be looking at an assignment from 10 November - 11 December 2025 and 2 - 4 Jan.
Prior to that there will be Production Meetings (usually one hour per week online) that are paid at £30 per hour.
Job Requirements
Experience of production management or equivalent in a producing house.
Professional experience in theatre production and technical elements.
Experience of managing motivating and developing people and planning requirements to enable the creative process.
Experience of working with and managing freelance creative staff, production staff and technicians.
Demonstrable ability to plan, schedule and manage the output of craft and production teams, including technical schedules.
Proven experience of managing resources in a busy organisation and/or venue including experience of planning, managing and monitoring budgets.
Demonstrable experience of the implementation of current health and safety legislation and good practice within a theatre environment.
Job Responsibilities
Production manage from planning to delivery.
Support the creative team to deliver high quality production values and be the first point of contact for the team and relevant freelance creatives and production staff once contracted.
Keep an overview and be responsible for, budgets, health and safety requirements.
Schedule and chair all relevant production and design meetings.
Produce production schedules and manage the production period from fit up to get out.
Lead on sustainable production practices.
Lead on Health & Safety (H&S) for all Production areas and departments, collaborating with the Theatre Manager who leads H&S for the venue.
Produce appropriate risk assessments/method statements which are reviewed at appropriate intervals.
Lead on CDM compliance and implementation.
Keep abreast of current developments in health and safety and ensure compliance with the requirements of Health and Safety legislation and the theatre's policies.
