About The Role
To support the seamless delivery of events at Becketwell Live by preparing, configuring, and maintaining technical and operational setups. As a Casual Event Technician, you will play a key role in creating exceptional experiences by supporting the Technical Department in ensuring the venue is ready and safe for concerts, conferences, and other events, while working collaboratively to meet client and audience expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Operations Team in preparing for public events, including concerts, exhibitions, and conferences.
* Working load-in, load-out and show day events.
* Building and configuring the venue’s stage system to meet the specific requirements of each event.
* Installing and managing crowd control barriers and queuing systems to ensure safe and smooth operations
* Setting up seating layouts and configurations in line with event needs.
* Operating and configuring the venue’s dividing wall system.
* Working during event changeovers (including overnight shifts) to reconfigure the venue for upcoming events.
* Collaborating with other departments and visiting production teams to meet operational requirements.
* Adhering to health and safety legislation and ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
* Assisting with the unloading/loading of trucks and manual handling of flight cases.
* Assisting with the rigging and derigging of lighting and sound equipment.
About You:
* Strong communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and visitors.
* Ability to perform manual handling tasks, which are key to this role.
* A willingness to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadliness.
* Strong team player with a proactive, can-do attitude.
* Awareness of health and safety legislation and practices.
* Ability to act on instructions from full-time technical staff.
* Physical fitness.
* Previous experience in the events or entertainment industry.
* Counterbalance Forklift Truck training or certification.
* Knowledge of sound and lighting systems.
