Duties:
* To provide an Adult Speech and Language Therapy Service for stroke or frailty inpatients in the Intermediate Care Team or Early Supportive Discharge Team.
* Work as the clinical lead within CICC and ESD for people with stroke and other medical conditions that result in a disorder of communication or swallowing.
* Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of people with communication and swallowing disorders following stroke.
* To provide specialist assessment, diagnosis and management of people with communication and swallowing disorders related to a wide range of other medical conditions under the frailty remit.
* Support and supervise rehabilitation assistants treating people in CICC.
* Provide clinical supervision in this specialism for less experienced speech and language therapists and rehabilitation assistants in both CICC and ESD.
Requirements of the Speech and Language Therapist/SLT:
* Degree or equivalent within Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration.
* Recent UK/NHS post qualifying experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist.
* Must be dysphagia-competent.
